Sometimes, during someone’s illness–whether physical, mental or both–life seems to slow down a bit.
Plans are postponed, conversations enter the realm of tunnel-vision–almost always focusing on health and we’ll-get-through-this-moments… Both parties–both “health” and “unhealth”–try as hard as they can to tippoint the dialogue to a more small talk area, however, the Sword of Damocles is looming and ever present…
At times like those, spectators–the ones not dealing with malady–seem to be played out; or, at least set aside for the moment in time.
LIKE A FILM sums up those feelings…
The film is a metaphorical image of a thing to blame–both affected parties need that… While one is still featuring in this film-of-life, the other is condemned to wander through the backlots of the filmstudio… The props and unused sets remind of an ongoing film, in which both had a part, however, not being an element of the film anymore, it now ignites memories of wonderful scenes played together… This leads to the understanding that life–as much as an ongoing film-production–sometimes needs to change the script… And with that the realisation that all made plans, all discussed ideas, all conversions are put to hold by the film itself… not by the main characters…
“Something’s cooking”–like something is being prepared behind the scenes before being revealed–gradually increases to “something’s frying”... One of them needs disclosure before the victimhood falls onto both parties…
