ongoing Covid-19 affairs | VENICE BEACH // MAN ENOUGH // INDUSTRIAL CITY

Dearest citizen of the falling world, This is the very last chance to order your vinyl copies of either Forbidden Pleasures Shouted To The Moon Over Venice Beach , Man Enough To Be A Woman , and/or (preferably " and ") Industrial City In The Clouds . These vinyl albums are fully handmade by our pals in L.A., but will not remain in production for very long. However, since it's all a we-don't-use-a-lot-of-machinery kind of thing, delivery time can be a while. Please, click on the sleeve to order your copy! Thank you! X Jean

ongoing Covid-19 affairs | #feb12 // Nike // Notes

Dearest citizen of the falling world, After the excessive playtime on FM-radio in most of Europe—with the obvious exception of the Netherlands, since nothing I do ever hits the Dutch limelight—Russia, the U.S. of A, and Canada, word has reached me that no other than Nike—“Just Do It!”—has picked up my little song ‘February 12’. Words cannot express my gratitude! Mostly since last year’s pandemic issues made sure I couldn’t promote the song—and the rest of the latest album called ‘Mineo’ for that matter—in a life setting. All this means that #feb12’s lease on life has been renewed.  The last time some big shot company used one of my tunes, dates back to fifteen years ago, when Ford—the car company—used snippets of a track called ‘Truce’ for their TV and Radio campaign to promote their renewed Focus line. Speaking of which; this year we will also revisit the ‘Truce’ track—happy 15th, I guess—and its host !JP’s ‘Notes From Purgatory’, whose remaster—the new analog one—will be released exc

Under the moniker “#sinnersongwriter10”—commemorating the tenth anniversary of his solo-career—a 4K restoration project was ignited with the release of the video “When Doves Cry”. Living with the constant fear of repeating himself, #JK—as a solo self-proclaimed sinner-songwriter—the last ten years, has traveled through a variety of music-styles. Combining rock with jazz, funk, punk, electro, dance, and more avant-garde-ish styles, he became one of the pioneering artists, who openly rejected the tendence, ethics and popularity in the current music industry; paving a unique path for himself to follow. Sonically, #JK never shied away from experiments—creating new instruments from the scratch and eschewing easy-going digital techniques available—but still maintained a somewhat accessible sound. On the subject of video, #JK uses the same standards he set for himself when it comes to the use of tape or instrumentation. Whether it was 16mm, 8mm film, black and white, color, or a broken-down V

ongoing Covid-19 affairs | #sinnersongwriter10 // the 4K RESTORATION PROJECT (When Doves Cry)

Under the moniker “#sinnersongwriter10”—commemorating the tenth anniversary of his solo-career—a 4K restoration project is ignited with the release of the video “When Doves Cry”. Available through YouTube in a number of HD formats, using a new 4K copy derived from the original video—in “When Doves Cry”’s case: the 1969 Super-16mm film—and with a fresh audio master, #JK presents his final thoughts over his material, which he released sometime over the past ten years. Stay tuned for more reworks!
