Écouter, we live on a planet where lightning turns sand into glass, dolphins give each other names, the ocean glows in the dark, and rain has a scent before it falls… L'odeur du pain fraîchement cuit… Vous devez comprendre ce dernier point… People tend to walk past that, or even worse, just take it for granted… But these are powerful, natural forces… Forces to be reckoned with… A real and deep friendship is also such a powerful force… Est-ce que vous comprenez cela? If sand turning to glass is something to be sniffed at, what chance does a real, powerful friendship have just to be noticed? To raise an eyebrow, in the least… Admiratif… Well, the friend I wrote this album for stands next to me with a beating heart, we have a steady moon above, and we are there for each other in a world quietly, absurdly beautiful… And his presence in my life is also a steady component for the quiet absurdity… –#JK @ Détruire l’ennui Last august, #JK had a phone-in conversation–during a quiet, summerl...

#2  ⛛ DARK WATER SWIM  ⛛ ⛛ SENEX IN INSULA We’ll be safe, we’ll get through We need this madness to the last syllable How did we get here? That’s the main question. A full moon is a mirror to the soul, a juniper represents hope since it is resilient, a pinnacle is everything–in anything–we want to reach, and in Reiki the low frequency represents the body… Dip in the dark water of a friend, which means nothing more than: what the hell are you going through, and can I help you? And let these thoughts run through the body… That’s Reiki’s high frequency (a peace in the mind), projected onto another human being… The song is the second “official” single for the album SENEX IN INSULA , and can now be watched on YouTube, as well as downloaded and streamed from BandCamp… Enjoy the video here… Enjoy/Buy the single here… Dark Water Swim by Jean Koning ⛛⛛⛛⛛⛛⛛⛛⛛⛛⛛ ⛛ VINYL/CD  ⛛ ⛛ DIGITAL I can’t go back to yesterday because I was a different person then.  – Lewis Carroll, Alic...

#2  ⛛ LIKE A FILM  ⛛ ⛛ SENEX IN INSULA And as for loving him, I'll never stop that Sometimes, during someone’s illness–whether physical, mental or both–life seems to slow down a bit. Plans are postponed, conversations enter the realm of tunnel-vision–almost always focusing on health and we’ll-get-through-this -moments… Both parties–both “health” and “unhealth” –try as hard as they can to tippoint the dialogue to a more small talk area, however, the Sword of Damocles is looming and ever present… At times like those, spectators–the ones not dealing with malady–seem to be played out; or, at least set aside for the moment in time. LIKE A FILM sums up those feelings… The film is a metaphorical image of a thing to blame–both affected parties need that… While one is still featuring in this film-of-life, the other is condemned to wander through the backlots of the filmstudio… The props and unused sets remind of an ongoing film, in which both had a part, however, not being an element...

#1  ⛛ ALEX  ⛛ ⛛ SENEX IN INSULA I'd give you all the splendour of a multiple of oceans while you were only searching for rain Entering “the island” in the middle of a conversation; as if you just got on a bus where two people are midway in their exchange, and you can’t make head or tails of it, but it is too exhilarating and interesting to not play a little game of eavesdrops. This is ALEX–the song that opens the second part of the whole. The song [for now] functions as a teaser: the first song of the new album, which can be listened to in full. It’s a song that deals with the exchange between two people–friends–about visions. Visions of how things developed and how one wishes things would have developed… Two extremely different worlds, but in the minds of friends–who’ve been through a thing or two [whether together or in enumeration tale]–something that casually passes the revue of an affable tête-à-tête, which occurs on a bus, in a café or restaurant, in the privacy of a hom...
