Last august, #JK had a phone-in conversation–during a quiet, summerly Sunday evening, with Radio Libertaire in Paris, to talk some sense, to talk some music, to talk some mainstream-escapism, and to talk some Like A Film.
Promoting the first single from SENEX IN INSULA single on French radio; an event which had had not occurred since Dear Kitty from the Covid-driven album Poor Jericho.
Mostly in English, at times in French, #JK made a true effort to please the listeners with tales about friendship and some–though quite anonymous–remarks about what such friendships mean to him, and the person he ultimately wrote a stunning track like Like A Film for.
Men long for buddies to help them process their performance anxiety, or even their failure and shame–none of which women can understand–but they also recoil from the thought of other men witnessing such vulnerability…
